NOT YOUR USUAL SOAP BOX
Holiday gift giving means wrapping up all those little somethings that are meant for the people we love. This year, I found a wonderful artisan that sells hand made soaps and bath bombs, created with the most wonderful essential oils. They are so pretty and smell so nice that I wanted to give them a nice little “home” in a box to slip pin the stockings.
I started with a piece of card stock measuring 10 ½ by 6-¼”.I also used some Designer Series Paper (I tend to hoard them)… and cut two pieces measuring 3-1/4” x 2-½” , one for both sides of the box. I also cut about 12” of ribbon to finish it off nicely.
Once I had my cardstock I scored it as follows:
on the long side, at 1-¼” and 5”; on the short side, at 1-½, 4-¼” 5-½” 8-¼” and 9-½”.
I then folded and pressed all the folds with my bone folder, cut the corners and the parts that will be slipped into the inside of the box. Then I adhered my two pieces of DSP on each side of the box and put it together.
I used Tear and Tape, because it is a stronger adhesive than the usual SNAIL. Tombow glue works well too, but you need to give it a bit of time to dry. Then, I inserted the soap, tucked it in and finished it all off by tying the ribbon with a bow.
Not your usual soap box - but this one suits me just fine!
