DREAMING OF THE TULIP FESTIVAL

The Ottawa Tulip Festival is one of my favorite times of the year. It is the invitation to warm summer weather and a beautiful site all over the city of Ottawa. I used the Timeless Tulips set for this card, for a hope of spring and a splash of springtime colours.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Timeless Tulips Bundle (Stamp Set and Tulip Builder Punch) at a 10% discount

  • Highland Heather Cardstock cut at 5-¼” x 4”

  • Highland Healther Classic Ink Pad

  • Pear Pizzazz Cardstock cut at 5-½” x 8-½” scored at 4-¼”

  • Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink Pad

  • Whisper White Card Stock - 1 piece cut at 5-¼” x 4” and the top piece at 3” x 4-¼” plus some scrap pieces to punch out the layered tulips and leaves.

  • Scripty 3D Embossing Folder

  • Wink of Stella Brush

  • Stampin’ Dimensionals

HOW TO

STEP 1: Fold your base of Pear Pizzazz on the score line and set aside.

STEP 2: Do all your stamping : on the inside, stamp one smaller sized tulip a stem and a leaf. Stamp the sentiment of your choice. On the envelope, stamp one small tulip, a stem and a leaf. On the front of the card, start with your greeting to make sure you are happy it is straight. The stamp the stems where you will want the tulips, I had four stems. Add some smaller tulips in the background, with some leaves stamped close to the stem.

STEP 3: Stamp the bigger tulips that you will be layering on top. Stamp on the 2” piece of card stock and start punching from the left side in. (That way, the leaf punch will not punch the tulip).

STEP 4: Add some Wink of Stella to the bottom of the layered tulips.

STEP 5: Layer the leaves with Stampin Dimensionals close to the stems and the tulips so that the smaller background tulips show between them.

STEP 6: Glue a piece of the ribbon behind the White Card Stock and make a separate bow with the bow maker, that you can pop on with a glue dot.

STEP 7: Run the piece of Highland Heather in the Scripty 3D embossing folder, through the die-cutting/embossing machine.

STEP 8: Put the card together : use Dimensionals to stick the top layer to the embossed layer; then SNAIL to glue the Highland Heather to your base card. Adhere the inside Whisper White layer, with SNAIL adhesive.

Give it to someone special!
