Start with Why
A very popular book by Simon Sinek, Start with Why, inspires me almost every day. Which brings me to share why I do what I do as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, and why my cards are truly an expression of how I feel and the people I care about.
Stampin’Up has a “Statement of the Heart”, which reads
“To love what we do and share what we love
As we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments…
In this we make a difference.”
Sometimes, life gets tough, sometimes the strongest people have reason to be overwhelmed. They are often the ones that never ask for help, or never show how difficult their life is.
One of our friends has been dealing with illness of her darling husband, two losses in her close family and a sister in long-term care that needs her almost constant presence and attention. This successful career woman is now going through as much stress and work as she did when she was Deputy Minister.
This is my why, this was why it was important to send her a card to let her know she is not alone, that she has friends that are thinking of her and willing to help in any way.
Never underestimate the power of a handmade card and caring thoughts it shares.
This card started with a piece of Highland Heather, 11 x 4-¼. I added a layer of our beautiful Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper, and created a frame from the Heirloom Frames Dies and 3D Embossing Folders, using Silver Foil paper. The sentiment was from Strong and Beautiful (148732) and was absolutely perfect for the situation and the person.
