FIRST TIP TUESDAY

Every time I go to Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage event, I learn new things and come back in a hurry to get back into my craft room. This weekend’s event was no exception. I have been a stamper for 16 years, 10 of those as a demonstrator and it is always so exciting to have some of those lightbulb moments.

I want to share some of those quick tips and tricks with you every Tuesday. From the new crafter to the expert, we can all learn or be reminded of little tips that help us save time, save money and avoid frustration. After all, we’re all in this to have FUN !

My first tip is a lightbulb moment I experience with the Take Your Pick Tool.

I discovered the Take Your Pick a few months ago, but never used it to its full potential. Recently I had an AHA moment when I saw another demonstrator (Thank you Lisa Curcio) use it in a different way.

First let me describe it: it has a double tipped stylus, mini spatula and an optional Die brush tip with foam pad to brush the pieces out of your intricate dies.

But the tip that grabbed me was seeing Lisa use the piercer to flip off the paper from her Stampin’ Dimensionals. I tried it and WOW - what a game changer. It even helps keep your space a little tidier, because it’s easy to dispose of the little pieces straight in the waste basket. The other WOW moment was when I first tried out the putty end of it. The putty end has a cap, and is FANTASTIC to lift gems, rhinestones, pearls and sequins and place them exactly where you want them. Another lightbulb moment with the same tool. Doesn’t get much better !
