By the Dock Birthday Card

When I saw this stamp set, it spoke to me and made me think of all the good times people have at the cottage, especially when the cottage is by the water. So I made this birthday card with the By the Dock Stamp Set (from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue, p. 112).

I started with a base of Mossy Meadow, measuring 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4”. Then I added a layer of Crumb cake(5-1/4” x 4”) and another of Mossy Meadow (5” x 3-3/4”). Then I used a piece of Crumb Cake and embossed it with the now-retired Corrugated 3D, which is a staple in my craft room. I used another piece of Crumb Cake and stamped it with a background stamp called Crackle Paint.

I layered the paddles cut with the Dockside Dies, tied them with a bit of linen thread, cut out some high grasses from Mossy Meadow cardstock with the Friendly Silhouettes dies. I then layered my French birthday greeting on a couple of strips of Braided Linen Trim on which I adhered the die-cut boat. I then decorated the inside of the card and my envelope with some of the stamps from the same By the Dock stamp set.

I love going back to some of my old stamps and embossing folders. Some may be retired, but they never get old.

I used the Dockside and Friendly Silhouettes dies to create this birthday card that reminds me of good times by a lake at the cottage. To order these or any Stampin’ Up! products, go to my online store.
