PLAYFUL PENGUINS
I just love penguins. They are the theme of one of our cards for the next Simple Stamping Class, still on a Christmas theme.
WHAT YOU NEED
1 piece of Thick Whisper White card stock, measuring 4-¼” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2
1 piece of Basic Black card stock measuring 5-¼” x 4
1 piece of regular Whisper White measuring 3 x 3 (to punch the circle) and 1 piece approximately 2-¾” x 4 for the sentiment and the third penguin that will be hand cut.
1 envelope to stamp another penguin
HOW TO
STEP 1 : Fold your base on the score line and set aside.
STEP 2: Stamp the penguin that faces right on the 3 x 3 yardstick and punch out with the 2-½ Circle punch. Once the ink is dry, you can smudge around the circle with yellow ink and a dauber, and use a marker to add a bit of yellow to the penguin. You can also add a red scarf or a bow to your penguin, as you wish.
STEP 3: Stamp the other penguin on the other piece of white cardstock and when it is dry, add a bit of yellow. Use your paper snips to cut out the shape of the penguin from the cardstock. Stamp Merriest Wishes on the same cardstock and punch it out with the Pretty Label punch. Stamp your greeting on the inside of the card and another penguin on your envelope.
STEP 4: Take the black piece of cardstock. Apply small drops of Shimmery Crystal Effects randomly over the sky. With the take your pick tool, add little snowflakes and sequins, randomly decorating the sky. Leave some of the drops to dry, with no additions, for a shimmery effect.
STEP 5: Glue the circle with the first penguin on the bottom left of the black cardstock. It can overlap, so you cut a bit of the circle with your scissors (looking at what to cut from the back of the cardstock). Use dimensional to stick the second penguin on the first circle leaving the sentiment for the left side.
Add any other decoration to taste.
