HONEY BEE - HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARD

Bees have been found to be the most important animal species of the planet… I read that last week and it made me love them even more. This card uses the Honey Bee bundle in the January-June 2020 mini-catalogue. The details on the stamp are stunning and the dies complement them beautifully. Here is one of my “bee” trio, that we will be doing at our February Stamp Camp.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Honey Bee Cling Stamp Set

  • Detailed Bee dies

  • Sending You Thoughts Stamp Set (Sale-A-Bration)

  • Whisper White Thick card stock cut at 8-½” x 5-½” and scored at 4-¼”

  • 2 pieces of Crushed Curry card stock cut at 5-¼” x 4” plus a scrap for the punched layer of the sentiment (or you can punch it out of the inside Crushed Curry layer.

  • 2 pieces of Whisper White cut at 5” x 3-¾” and pieces to stamp the bee and the birthday greeting.

  • 1 piece of Basic black card stock to die-cut the large bee.

  • Silicone mat to do a mirror image technique on the inside.

  • Timeless Label Punch

  • Crushes curry Ink pad and marker

HOW TO

Step 1: Score and fold your base of Thick Whisper White card stock.

STEP 2: Do your stamping. First, stamp the bee and colour the body. Then stamp your birthday greeting on Whisper White, and on the inside layer of your card.

STEP 3: Stamp the flower on your Whisper white inside layer with the Stamparatus. Remove the card stock, replace with the silicone mat. Stamp the flower image again. Remove the mat and position the flower on the inside layer of your card to create a horse shoe shape. Press down, you have the mirror image of the flower. Stamp your small bee between the flowers.

STEP 4: Die cut the whisper white top layer with the honeycomb die. Keep the die-cut. Die-cut the black bee and the stamped bee.

STEP 5: Use the extra honeycomb die cut and position close to the opening in the layer. Take a dauber and gently sponge the inside of the honeycomb shapes.

STEP 6: Adhere your Whisper White top layer to the Crushed Curry layer. Apply glue with sponge to the die-cut honeycomb shape. Reposition over the Crushed Curry layer of cardstock so the yellow shows through. Position your stamped bee and adhere with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Apply glue to the die-cut bee and adhere to the top layer.

STEP 7: Stamp your greeting and punch out with the Timeless Label punch. Punch the layer of Crushed Curry. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
