A GLEAMING COPPER CHRISTMAS
I really love the Brightly Gleaming Suite, especially the Specialty Designer Series Paper. This card is simple, yet elegant and is an opportunity to show new stampers a WOW technique with the heat embossed sentiment in matching copper embossing powder.
WHAT YOU NEED
Night of Navy card base of 8-½” x 5-½” scored at 4-¼”
1 piece of Night of Navy of 3-½” x 1” for the sentiment
1 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 4-½” x 3” for the card front
1 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 3-¾” x 5” for the inside.
1 strip of Brightly Gleaming ¾” x 5”
1 piece of 3 x 3” Brightly Gleaming for the front and 1 piece of 2 x 3” to punch out the ornaments.
1 piece of copper foil paper 2-½” x 3” and one piece 2-¼ x 3-¾” (stitched)
1 piece of Very Vanilla ribbon, measuring approximately 8 inches
Copper embossing powder
Playful Penguins Stamp Set (for the sentiments)
Embossing Buddy
Heat Tool
Night of Navy ink for the inside sentiment
HOW TO
STEP 1: Fold your base. Stamp your inside wish with Night of Navy and adhere your strip to the left side of the layer. Adhere the layer to the inside of your card base and set aside. Use the Night of Navy Ink and the ornaments from the stamp set to decorate your envelope.
STEP 2: Build your front : adhere your copper foil to the top of the Very Vanilla layer and your Brightly Gleaming square to the bottom. To hide the seam, fold your ribbon over top and tie a flat knot on the left side.
STEP 3: Punch out two ornaments from the other Brightly Gleaming piece. Punch out the top of the ornament from a scrap of copper foil paper. Stick the copper tips to the ornaments.
STEP 4: Wipe your Night of Navy strip with the Embossing Buddy. Stamp your greeting with Versamark. Pour embossing powder over the wish. Shake off the excess and heat with the heat tool until the powder melts and reveals the sentiment. Flag the ends of the banner with the banner punch, by slipping it and looking under the punch to line it up.
STEP 5: Assemble the card front. Place Stampin’ Dimensionals on your ornaments and stick to the stitched copper layer. Use more dimensional to adhere the copper layer over the ribbon, centred over the Designer paper and Copper layer. Finish by adhering the banner with dimensional.
