#simplestamping ENJOY THE MOMENT CARD

Enjoy the Moment is maybe one of the most overlooked stamp sets in the 2021 January-June mini-catalogue, but it attracted me as soon as I saw it. I actually received it in one of Stampin’ Up!’s great events for demonstrators, last fall.

I wanted to use its pretty images to create a very stylish but sober card, that can be used as a sympathy card. It’s always difficult to create a card last minute, when we learn of someone’s passing, especially when we are grief stricken. So this card is meant to be done ahead of time, and hopefully not used for a long time.

The stamp set has many nice greetings, if you would rather prepare it for another purpose: Friendship is found in simple things, Enjoy the moment, a little note…, Happy Birthday, Good things are worth waiting for. So Enjoy the creative moment, no matter why you are using this set.

STEP BY STEP

·      Create your card base with Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 11” scored at 5-1/2”; press your fold with your bone folder.

·      Use one of the images from the stamp set and stamp the plant with Early Espresso Ink on the Early Espresso cardstock; it will give you a tone on tone result as a background.

·      On the Very Vanilla smaller piece, stamp the long plant image in Soft Suede ink. Use your blender pen to blend in the colour.  Stamp the wider plant and use a blender pen to pull in the colour. Fussy cut the second plant.

·      Insert the 2” stamped Very Vanilla piece in the Tasteful Textile Embossing folder and run it through your cut and emboss machine.

·      Use multipurpose glue or snail to adhere the Very Vanilla piece to the Early Espresso piece (measuring 5” x 2-1/4”)

·      Before sticking the stamped image, run the linen thread around the Early Espresso layer. Tie with a knot to the right side of where you will stick the layered image.

·      Adhere the stamped layers to the base, over the linen thread. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the second plant to the layer, leaving it outside the layer to one side.

·      Stamp the greeting on a ½” strip of Very Vanilla cardstock. Cut close to the words. Adhere using Stampin’ Dimensional on one side, and glue dot on the other (to even out the greeting on the layered stamped image.

·      Decorate your envelope.
