POP UP BIRD BALLAD CARD FOR SPRING
This pretty Bird Ballad card was inspired by a fellow US demonstrator and brings the hope of spring. Watch the video to learn how to make this easy fun fold for the pop up center on opening the card. Here are the instructions and the supplies you will need to make it at home.

WHAT YOU NEED
Pool Party Card Stock (122924) cut at 5-½ x 8-½”
Whisper White Card Stock (100730) cut at 5-¼ x 8-¼” and a small piece for the sentiment and to cut out the inside bird.
Basic Gray Card Stock (121044) cut at 5-⅜” x 4-⅛” and a piece cut at 4-⅛ x ½” and punch out the circle for the sentiment from the centre of layering piece
Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (149592) 2 pieces of 4 x 2-½” from the Pool Party coloured background paper and a bird cut out from another sheet.

HOW TO
STEP 1: Score and fold the base of Pool Party at 4-¼”
STEP 2: Decorate the front of the card. Adhere the Designer Series Paper to the Basic Grey layer (after punching out the 2 ¼” circle). Adhere the ½” strip to the front.
STEP 3: Take the piece of Whisper White card stock and score at 4-⅛” . Then, measure 2-¼” from the score line and make a tick mark with a pencil. Do the same thing on the other side of the score at 2-¼”. Turn your piece and measure along the score line and tick at 2-¾”. Take the scoring attachment of the Take your Pick tool and score between the 2-¼” tick mark and the 2-¾” tick mark. Do the same on the other side. Gently bend and fold to create a beak-like pop up. Then fold and burnish your fold lines with a bone folder.
STEP 4: Do your stamping. Stamp the greeting on a 2” Whisper White circle and adhere to the Basic Grey circle. On the inside of your card, use Pool Party Ink to stamp your greeting on the right side. On the left side, use the image with the bokeh dots from the Beauty Abounds Stamp Set to add some dots to the left side. Use the smaller bokeh dot image to stamp with Daffodil Delight Ink.
STEP 5: Adhere the bird image cut out (or stamped and coloured image from the Free as a bird Stamp Set) to a piece of Whisper White and fussy cut around it. Use glue dots to adhere to the beak, making sure that the image will pop over the top of the card, but does not exceed the triangle created by the fold.
STEP 6: Center the inside to the base of the card. Apply adhesive to the Whisper white and fold the base over the inside (not the other way around). Adhere the sentiment circle to the strip of Basic Grey on the front of the card.
