GOODBYE SUMMER ... HELLO FALL !
Summer 2020 — one for the history books. It is the summer of COVID, the summer of really warm weather, of meeting neighbours we didn’t know (even after 12 years of living here), until everyone wanted to connect after a few long months of isolation. It was also the long-awaited summer of my retirement.
Far from wanting to downplay the tragedy of COVID, I still like to see a certain silver lining. It has allowed many people to re-assess what is really important, to confirm their values, and to want to lend a hand. It has been a wake-up call for many to appreciate their health and to do more of what they love.
I’ve been neglecting my blog for a few months, doing what I love: being outside, on the golf course, in the pool, walking the dogs, and making cards for the Food Bank and for people I care about. I also had a wonderful opportunity to give a few virtual classes, thanks to the Ottawa Public Library. These workshops in a seniors home allowed residents to discover crafting and making their very first card.
Seeing the joy of people creating a card for the first time never gets old. So for my return to this blog, I thought I would share with you the card we made together.
