A DRAGONFLY IN YOUR GARDEN

I was thrilled to see that the Dragonfly Garden stamp set was returning in the Annual Catalog. This is a sweet set, full of possibilities for all occasions, masculine or feminine cards. I have used a new technique I learned recently to make the dragonfly float over the garden in this card also using some of the lovely Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper. With spring in the air, gardens are a welcome site.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Misty Moonlight Card stock 8-½ x 5-½” scored at 4-¼” (153081)

  • Bumblebee Card Stock 2 pieces of 5-¼” 4”(153077)

  • Basic White 3 pieces of 5 x 3-¾” plus the inside piece to punch dragonfly and greeting (159276) plus a strip of 1/2” or 3/4” high, by 4 inches.

  • Dandy Garden DSP (154297)

  • Dragonfly Garden Bundle 156224 (stamp set and punch)

  • In Color markers (water-based) 153125

  • Old Olive Stamp Pad 147090

  • Misty Moonlight Stamp Pad 153118

  • Window Sheets 12 x 12 (142314) - or lamination sheets and laminator (non Stampin’ Up!)

  • Stitched Rectangles Dies 151820 (2 largest held together with tape)

  • Foam Adhesive strips (141825)

HOW TO

  • Score and fold your card base. Adhere the Bumblebee Layers on the outside and inside. Set aside.

  • Cut the Basic White frame with the two largest dies of the Stitched rectangles

  • On a piece of Basic white, stamp your flowers twice, once full size, one shorter bunch. Colour with markers to taste.

  • On a leftover strip of Basic White, stamp your greeting. Decide if you want the greeting to float or adhere on top of the flower images. Stamp your inside greetings and images if desired.

  • Punch out a dragonfly from a sheet of Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper. You can also stamp the dragonfly on a piece of Basic White, colour and punch out.

  • Use a sponge and multipurpose glue to adhere the dragonfly to the back of a piece of Window Sheet sized to fit inside the frame. Place it on top of your images to see where you want the dragonfly to be - so as to still see the flowers. If you have a laminator, use a 4 x 6 sheet, insert the dragonfly and laminate.

  • Adhere the window sheet to the frame with your adhesive of choice. Adhere the greeting to this layer, if you want the greeting to float as well.

  • Cut adhesive strips to the window sheet and adhere to the flower images layer. Adhere the result to the Bumblebee layer.

  • Decorate your envelope and send a smile to a very special person
