WHAT DOES NATURE HAVE IN COMMON WITH MENTAL HEALTH

I don’t know very many people who do not love nature. Nature is a delight for all our senses, especially at this time of year, with the magical festival of fall colours. The landscape, the scent of freshness in the air, sea mist or pine trees… it feeds the soul and has many mental health benefits.

What does mental health have to do with nature? Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set. This year’s Difference Maker Stamp Set, by Stampin’ Up!. It has 9 cling stamps, images only, so it is perfect for all markets. This year, the Stampin’ Up! family has decided to make a difference in many ways. This stamp set is one of them. For every stamp set sold, $4 will be given to a mental health organization. An organization has been chosen for Canada, to benefit people here, so your gift might help someone you know.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love to walk the dogs along the Trans-Canada Trail and in the woods down our area. It happens quite frequently that we see rabbits, we’ve seen a fox or two and coyotes roaming even in our neighbourhood, not to mention the deer that cross the greens at the Amberwood Golf Course to get from one side of the pond to the other.

In Granite Ridge, some of the kids have tried to catch Blackie, a stray rabbit that probably was abandoned by its family. We often seem him wander, after dinner, in and around Slate Park. When I saw Nature’s Beauty, I know I just had to have it and one of these cards is for little Blackie. Let’s hope he finds a home before winter.
